NFV is believed to be a main pillar of any enterprise digital transformation. Latest Market Surveys are all pointing to a wide adoption from Mobile Operators with ISPs. NFV Promise to fulfill the network need to provide a wide new services efficiently, dynamically, and with the least time to market. NFV is perfectly seen an ingredient for 5G and Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) . More and more technologies are relying on NFV to be realized such as Network Slicing, CUPS, and others. It is increasingly observed that reorganization roadmaps in Mobile Enterprises are heavily requiring new Skill sets and NFV is on the Top of the list.
Why to take the Course with Karim Rabie?
Don’t :) My advice is to get the NFV Knowledge but the difficult thing about learning NFV unlike other technologies such as AWS, Openstack, Containers, etc is that the principles are totally scattered on the internet with a serious technology fragmentation in the market. In this training pack, I tried to do my best to outline the curriculum in a way that combines the technical concepts with reference as much as I could and the real NFV working experience that I gained during the last years working on real Telco Cloud Deployment, being a OPNFV EUAG member, and working closely with ETSI NFV NOC WG.

What are the Course Contents?
The Course is a 20 hrs Online training Class introducing a Curriculum of 5 Modules
Module (1) – Understanding NFV
This module provides an overview about the technology, the motivations, the historical background and the Technical Concept with an illustration of the Key Players in the Market and the Market trends.
Module (2) – Virtual Network Function Life Cycle Management
As the title states, This module gives a technical overview of the LCM of VNF. How a VNF is on-boarded, scaled, terminated, etc? What is a VNF Package? What are the relevant descriptors?
Module (3) – Network Service Life Cycle Management
Similar to Module (2), Module (3) provides an illustration of the techniques used from Service Lifecycle Management
Module (4) – NFV Terminology
NFV Ecosystem has a lot of buzz words and terms, I am summing it all in this Module
Module (5) – NFV Reference Points and Interfaces
Referencing ETSI NFV Architecture, I am scanning the stack, providing an illustration of each reference point and the exposed interfaces. I believe that this is a key step towards NFV understanding
